🛡️ Security & compliance

How we protect you, your money and the platform – explained in plain language.

✔ KYC checks for every customer ✔ PEP and sanctions screening ✔ Anti-money-laundering procedures

How verification works

1

Verify your identity

You confirm who you are: full name, personal identification code (isikukood or equivalent), residential address and nationality.

2

Confirm your details

You check and confirm your personal and contact information.

3

Upload documents if required

For larger amounts we may ask for supporting documents, such as a payslip, tax return or bank statement.

Know Your Customer (KYC)

All customers undergo KYC checks in accordance with the Estonian Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act. We verify:

  • Full name
  • Personal identification code (isikukood or equivalent)
  • Residential address
  • Nationality

PEP and sanctions screening

We screen all applicants against international and Estonian sanctions lists and against registers of politically exposed persons (PEP).

Enhanced due diligence for larger amounts

For larger investments or a higher risk profile we may ask for proof of where the money comes from (Source of Funds) and how your wealth was built (Source of Wealth).

Corporate clients

For legal entities we request a Commercial Register extract (Äriregister), identify the ultimate beneficial owners (UBO) and verify board members.

Anti-money-laundering (AML)

We make sure funds do not come from, or serve, criminal activity. In practice we:

  • Customer risk assessment: every customer is placed in a low, medium or high risk category
  • Ongoing transaction monitoring: we watch for unusual patterns, high-value transfers and suspicious source accounts
  • Reporting: suspicious transactions are reported to the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit (Rahapesu Andmebüroo, RAB)
  • Record keeping: identification and transaction records are archived securely for at least 5 years after the business relationship ends
  • Internal controls and training: regular staff training and documented internal procedures (sise-eeskirjad)

Source of Funds & Wealth policy

We may ask you to show where your money comes from and how your wealth was built. This is a legal requirement for us and not a sign of suspicion. Documents are handled under our privacy policy and used only for these checks. Examples of documents:

  • Salary or pension: payslip or pension statement
  • Own business: annual report or tax return
  • Inheritance or gift: will, estate inventory or gift letter
  • Sale of property or company: sale agreement
  • Securities: contract note or account statement
  • Savings: bank statement

⚖️ Legal basis

Nordivo complies with the Estonian Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act (Rahapesu ja terrorismi rahastamise tõkestamise seadus – RahaPTS) and guidelines issued by the Financial Intelligence Unit (Rahapesu Andmebüroo, RAB). In accordance with Section 47 of the RahaPTS, customer due diligence data is securely retained for at least 5 years. Suspicious activities are reported directly to RAB as required by law.
